| The City of Cape Coral Charter Schools have established high educational goals for their students and the teaching staff is continually striving to identify creative ways to keep students focused and stimulated in the lesson material. The teachers have found that more student participation and involvement with the lessons, results in improved comprehension and retention.
Keeping a classroom of students involved in classroom discussions and demonstrations like a detailed dissection of a lab specimen is sometimes very difficult. The majority of the students typically cannot see well and tend to get distracted. Even holding a book or an object in front of the classroom is difficult for everyone to see. If it gets passed around the class, the kids tend to get preoccupied with that process and by the time they get to see the book or object, the relevance to the lecture may have passed. |

| A few years ago, the Samsung SDP850DX digital presenters were introduced to the classrooms at the City of Cape Coral Charter Schools. They became a very important tool for the teachers enabling them to make all visuals big, bright, and clear. The topic of discussion could now be projected in front of the entire class to be easily seen by everyone. The digital presenters are capable of projecting data from a computer screen, a page in a book, an object in the teachers hand, a science experiment being done in front of the classroom, or notes and drawings created on the fly. |

| The digital presenters have been used in many diverse ways in the City of Cape Coral Charter School classrooms and the benefit to the children has been immeasurable. The students become incredibly engaged in the lessons and want to participate. They have a better understanding of the lesson material and their retention of the subject matter has greatly improved.
With the use of the Samsung SDP850DX digital presenter, science experiments can now be seen in detail by everyone in the classroom and the entire procedure can be saved to show students again later or for those students who missed the lab altogether. Mathematics problems can be worked out for the class and a picture can be taken of the smart board so the teacher does not have to redo problems when they have to show students at a later time. In social studies, maps, books, and worksheets are easily displayed to support the lecture material. The digital presenters have been found to be a great benefit to teachers of all subject areas.
Students also use the digital presenters to present projects and play educational games, improving their own presentation skills. Honing this ability early in age is extremely beneficial and is something that will be there for the students in higher levels of education and for the rest of their lives.
Because the teachers are now using the digital presenters, time is no longer wasted making transparencies and preparing other classroom materials. Not to mention that the amount of paper used has gone down drastically, cutting costs and benefiting our environment.
